We are thrilled to have our star on the rise, Lauren Ryan, as our June Model of the Month. From fitting with clients like Jenny Yoo to American Eagle, Lauren continues to show love and devotion to the industry!
1. Where you are from?
Native New Yorker. Born and raised in Bronxville. I’m also an Irish citizen.
2. What you are into… studies, hobbies, special skills etc..?
I love live music! One of the most beautiful things about living in NYC is that the music never stops. There is always something new to see and discover. I feel incredibly lucky to have access to see such talent… I can barely hold my excitement for Phish summer tour!
I also hold a big place in my heart for Yankee baseball.
3. Favorite clients from the biz?
Love them all! Though my good friend Jodi Sandman at Crescala Fashion Development has been a dream client. Crescala has allowed me to work with dozens of some of the most talented emerging designers in the industry. It’s been an incredible pleasure to do fit and showroom work with such an amazing group throughout the years.
4. Dreams/goals any thing else of interest (any other dream clients?)?
My dream clients would definitely be any of the major French fashion houses. Azzedine Alaia, Chanel, Dior, Lanvin, YSL etc. The opportunity would allow my inner fashion nerd to shine bright… and to be a part of fashion history would be pretty cool too.
5. Career highlights?
Every new season is a highlight! It’s such an honor being part of the design process and helping the designers tell their stories through the collections. I love to see the brands I work with evolve and grow. I get so excited whenever I see celebrities wearing garments fitted on me in magazines and on the red carpet. It validates me and that what I’m doing is getting done right.
6. How did you get into modeling ?
From working in the industry! While attending LIM college, I had a long standing internship assisting the designer at Adrienne Vittadini who then started to use me occasionally for inhouse fit. I signed with my first agency shortly after. But the technical skills and understanding of garment making I leaned from that experience transcends throughout my fit modeling career.
