We are delighted to feature beauty Ashley V. as our January 2015 Model of the Month, continue reading for more details!

1. Where you are from?
Green Bay, WI! Yay, cheeseheads!

2. What you are into… studies, hobbies, special skills etc..?
I love to dance! I have 20 plus years of training behind me. I was classically trained as a ballerina, then I fell in love with modern and contemporary dance. Although I have “retired” from doing it in the professional sense, I am still a “bun head” at heart.

Screen Shot 2015-01-08 at 12.23.48 PMI am fascinated with the psychology field, especially the emerging field of dance psychology. I double-majored in Dance and Psychology and did my undergraduate honors thesis on Attributional Retraining in Dancers. Riveting stuff! At least for me (laugh). I was a Research Coordinator at Mount Sinai Medical Center before the good people at Alexander Wang made me their production fit model.
I recently decided to get back in touch with my artistic roots, and have taken up acting again….which I LOVE! I highly suggest The Barrow Group for anyone interested.
Hm, what else… I love to travel! Oh, and I can twitch my nose like Samantha on Bewitched!

3. What are your career goals and dreams?
Is it too late to be a Victoria Secret Model..? Oh, it is… damn.140117_Ashley_Van_Egeren

Honestly, I feel so lucky to have the career that I have. I think the key to success in any career, is one’s ability to adapt, grow and learn. My goal is to never feel stagnant, and to continue to explore all my areas of interest in this business and beyond

I want to keep this fabulous career as a fit model going. I adore my clients, present and past, and I am always on the look-out for another great fit!

My other main goal this year is to get more work in front of the camera, both in print and film! Recently, I have gotten a taste for both and I LOVE it!

3. Favorite Clients from the Biz?
Oh God, I don’t know how to answer that. There have been sooo many wonderful clients that I have worked with over the years!

I will always have a special place in my heart for the people I have worked with at Alexander Wang. They were my first major fit account, and my work with them over the past 4years has taught me so much and opened so many doors for me. I absolutely LOVE working for Bibhu Mohapatra. Not only are Bibhu, and his assistant designer David Ferron, amazing talents, but they are amazing people. Such kind and giving souls. I am honored to be their house model. I also adore Susana Monaco and her team. They are a complete joy to work with, and just make the fittings fly by. Zac Posen-Absolute treat! And there is something about being in his clothes that just made me feel like a Womanwith a captal “W”!; Tory Burch & Tamara Mellon- both fierce business women that I respect immensely I seriously could go on and on….

Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2015 Collection

4. Career highlights?

Going to Paris Fashion Week this past September. Bibhu Mohapatra took me as the model for his SS 2015 collection. Not only did I get to show his collection, but I got to do a photoshoot of his line on the balcony of our breathtaking suite! Modeling couture in Paris with the Eiffel Tower on one side of you, the Louvre in the other, and the Tullieras below you…. Yup, DEFINITELY a career highlight!

5. How did you get into modeling?
When I was 14 or 15 I heard an ad on a radio station, that modeling scouts were coming to my hometown of Green Bay. I convinced my mom to take me, and then the scouts convinced my mom, by agreeing to waive the fees, to take me to a modeling convention in Chicago. I met with some great agencies and, although I didn’t get a contract, their feedback led me to pursue it on my own. 140117_Ashley_Van_EgerenNothing really happened until I was 18 and living in Chicago and New York City as a dancer. Then I went on pretty much every open call until I found one to work with! I was a very determined little thing…still am.

Our model and talent Kara Rosella is too cool not to talk about!  She has recently taken TV & film by storm as a stunt woman, continue reading to see more details..

How did you get into stunts?
Well, to be totally honest, it was being at the right place at the right time — plus the fact that I was an NCAA gymnast for the University of Michigan. That gave me the athletic foundation to build on. The gymnastics combined with my current training of boxing and martial arts has provided just the beginning of my stuntwork. Soon up on the to do list — stunt driving school!

What is your favorite stunt experience story?
I don’t have a crazy personal story just yet to share, but I will! But what I find most interesting is everyone else’s stunt stories . From jumping off high buildings, to getting set on fire, rolling and flipping cars, to breaking through glass — it all takes focus, hard work, strength, training, and courage.  I am beyond impressed with the people I have met thus far in the stunt community. And thankful to be a apart of it.

Favorite shows to work on?
So far, a new NBC show Allegiance, The Odyssey; Mysteries of Laura. Soon up — Person of Interest.

We are so proud of you, Kara! Keep up the great work!
